Certificate of Analysis (report) provides details to the client about the test results. This report is generated by a

Lab Manager after they have approved the lab test results. Rejected results (i.e. test results with out-of-spec result values which have not their Include in CoA field set to Yes) are not included in the report.

The Certificate of Analysis subsection provides the following menus:

Preparing a Certificate of Analysis

Clicking Prep Certificate of Analysis displays the Prepare Certificate of Analysis screen:

This screen lists the tests for each sample and their current approval status. Note that test results which fall within specification are auto approved. To generate a Certificate of Analysis:

  1. Select at least one company legal entity on the right hand side of the screen for each sample of each product. Note that the check boxes in the header can be used to select the legal entity for each test listed for the sample.

  2. Click Save. This saves the current Certificate of Analysis configuration.

  3. Click Generate COA.

  4. Select the following on the Generate Certificate of Analysis popup, as seen in the screenshot below, and then click Generate Certificate:

    1. Choose Grade: specifies which product grade to generate the Certificate of Analysis is for.

    2. Choose Client: specifies which client the Certificate of Analysis is for.

    3. Document title: allows for the selection of Certificate of AnalysisCertificate of Quality, or a custom name to be entered. Note that the title Certificate of quality is required by some financial institutions.

    4. Samples per page: controls whether one or more samples are shown per page. Selecting only one sample per page can improve readability when samples contain a large number of tests.

    5. Min/Max specifications: controls whether the specification constraints are included.

    6. Sample Note location: controls where the notes are displayed.

    7. Include Client Reference: selecting this field will add the client reference number to the document header details.

    8. Modify Version Number: adds a version number to the document header details.

    9. Signature: adds in a signature snippet. You can also manually enter in your own signature.

Once generated, a certificate of analysis will be available in the list of certificates for viewing. See Viewing a Certificate of Analysis below for more information.
