A Quality Test is a test that is to be performed on a sample that defines the unit of measurement, minimum and maximum value constraints, and measurement precision. A test or combination of tests can be included in a Slate, and assigned to samples within a Job Order. Lab Technicians can then enter test result values for each test assigned to a sample.
The Quality Test search and listing screen allows Lab Managers to manage the collection of industry standard tests available in the Inspection Management System:
Creating Quality Tests
To add a new Quality Test, select Create from the Action's menu on the Quality Tests search and listing screen.
This displays the following sections:
Properties: one or more properties that define a condition or requirement for the test. Additional properties can be added using the Add Property button. Properties consist of the following fields:
Property Name: the name of the property.
Parameter Types: can be set to yes or no to specify if the test is numeric or not. The following parameters will be displayed accordingly:
Numeric Parameters: define the specific parameters for the property. Additional parameters can be added using the Add condition button.
UOM: the unit of measurement. The options available in the dropdown have been pre-populated in the system. Additional UOM's can be added using the Add UOM button.
Method Min/Max: the minimum and maximum constraints that the test results must fall within.
Precision & Condition: specifies the precision (in decimal places, or significant number of digits), and a conditional expression that the test must satisfy. Both parameters are required.
Round to Nearest: specifies how to round the value up.
Non-numeric Parameters:
Result Options/Free Text: a result that can be entered as free text.
Possible Values: result options for non-numeric tests.
Reordering Properties
Clicking and dragging the four-way arrow icon to reposition the property within the list can reorder properties:
Modifying Tests Previously Assigned to Slates
When modifying a test that has been assigned to a slate, a message will be displayed indicating which slates the test is currently applied to:
Note that the changes won't be propagated to the existing slates that the test was previously assigned to. The updated test will only be available on new slates that the test gets added to.
Adding and Modifying Raw Data Points
Raw data points are data that is not part of the test method (e.g. the machine number the test was run on or other results on the machine that are not part of a test property).
Raw Data Points can be added or modified for a test by selecting the Modify Raw Data Points from the Actions menu when viewing the information for a specific test.
To add or modify Raw Data Points:
Select Modify Data Points from the Actions menu.
Click the Test Data button if data is to be entered for the test, or click Property Data if data is to be entered for the test's properties.
Enter a value in the input field and click Add. Repeat this step for additional properties.
Click Save to save the raw data points.
