Units of Measure

Units of Measure refers to the methods for measuring specific physical qualities of a product (e.g. Celsius for temperature).

These methods of measurement can be selected when specifying cargo in the Basic Information section of a Job Order and when defining quality tests

The Units of Measure search and listing screen allows for their creation and maintenance:

Created: the data when the unit of measurement was created.

Modified: the data when the unit of measurement was created or last updated.

Creating Units of Measure

The Units of Measure action displays the following screen for creating measurements:

The Units of Measure creation screen allows the following information to be entered:

  1. Unit of Measure: the name to uniquely identify the unit of measure.

  2. Abbreviation: the abbreviation used for the measure.

  3. Category/Parcel Quantity: specifies if the unit of measure is associated to quantity or quality

  4. Status: indicates if the entity is active (selectable for job orders), or inactive.

  5. Type: the type of measurement (e.g. distance).

  6. Is Metric: select if the units are in metric, or leave unselected if they are in imperial.

  7. Code: an entry field where any associated code can be entered.
