A Method of Transport refers to specific vessels and pipelines which contain/transport a product (e.g. a vessel with a specific IMO number). These entities can then be specified on Job Orders.
The Methods of transport search and listing screen allows for the maintenance of these entities.
The Methods of Transport listing screen includes the following details:
MOT type: the method of transport that can be a vessel or pipeline.
Transport Name: includes the name of the barge or pipeline, and the official number in brackets for barges.
Official Number: the official number assigned to a tanker or vessel.
Status: indicates if the entity is active (selectable for job orders), or inactive.
Created: the date that the entity was entered in the system.
Modified: the date that the entity was last edited.
Creating Methods of Transport
When viewing a Method of Transport, the Actions menu provides submenus for creating vessels and pipelines.
Creating Vessels
The vessel creation screen allows the following vessel information to be entered:
Transport Name, Vessel Type, IMO: these fields are required in order to identify the vessel.
Status: active indicates the entity can be selected in a job order.
Class Flag, Year Built, Code, Call Sign, Registry: transport related fields. Some or all of these fields can optionally be entered depending on their relevancy to the vessel.
Drydock Dates: the dates that a vessel will be in dry dock. Select a date from the field, and then click the "+" icon to add it. Additional dates can be added by repeating this process.
General Description: a free form field where additional information about the vessel can be added. ng and Importing Data
Vessel information can be exported to .csv (comma separated values) files, which allows the data to be viewed and edited using spreadsheet software, or saved for offline viewing or backups.
To export this data, navigate to the Actions menu on the Methods of Transport screen and select the following submenu:
Download CSV (Vessels): downloads all vessel data to a .csv file which can then be opened using a spreadsheet program or saved to disk.
